Bayside Dental Kids at Bayside Dental Associates is beautifully decorated to make every child's visit to the dentist a fun experience! The operatories are very soothing and the walls are painted with murals reflecting fantastical images of the sea, the jungle, space, and prehistoric times. In addition to the unique murals, every room is equipped with a television and DVD player to help make our younger patients feel more comfortable.
Our Pediatric Dentists provide extra-gentle care to children of all ages. Each pediatric dentist at our Queens and Long Island offices in New York is specially trained in behavior management skills.
Our highly trained dental assistants are also invaluable in providing each child with a pleasant experience. Our registered nurse and dental hygienists work closely with the doctors and patients to provide the extra tenderness and comfort all children deserve. Kid Island Dental at Mid-Island Dental Associates
Kid Island is the impressive children's area at our Hicksville location. Our children's reception area is filled with special activities, PlayStation® and DVDs to remove any anxiety your child may feel prior to his or her appointment. The murals in our treatment rooms will ease your child's mind during the treatment process.
Our pediatric dentists are specially trained in behavior management skills and have the background in psychology to evaluate and approach each child's individual needs. Meet Our Pediatric Dentists
Katherine Sporn, D.D.S.
Dr. Katherine Sporn is a 1986 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. After graduation, she completed a pediatric residency at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York between 1986 and 1988, acting as Chief Pediatric Resident in 1988. Dr. Sporn is a children's specialist at our Bayside office and makes every child's visit a wonderful experience! Her warm and friendly personality puts every child at ease. Dr. Sporn has a great love for children and treats every child with patience and understanding.
Tanny Josen, D.D.S.
Dr. Tanny Josen was born and raised in Manhasset, Long Island. He earned his undergraduate degree from Clark University in Massachusetts and graduated from New York University School of Dental Medicine in 1996 with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Following his graduation from dental school, he completed a three-year hospital-based residency program in pediatric dentistry at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn. In his last year, Dr. Josen served as chief resident of the dental department.
Dr. Josen is currently a member of the American Dental Association and the American Association of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Josen frequently volunteers at many local schools, speaking to children about the importance of oral hygiene. During his visits, Dr. J (as the kids call him) educates the children on proper dental health care to ensure that they start off on the right foot. His goal is for children to enjoy not only taking care of their teeth, but also visiting the dentist.
Jacquelyn Do, D.D.S.
Dr. Jacquelyn Do is originally from Orange County, California where she graduated with honors in biological sciences from the University of California, Irvine. Curious about the east coast, she relocated to New York City where she attended Columbia University's School of Dental and Oral Surgery. After receiving her doctorate degree in dental surgery, Dr. Do was certified in pediatric dentistry at New York University Dental School. Her dedication to oral health care promotion and education for children has gained her national recognition. She is an award recipient of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) and the American Society of Dentistry for Children (ASDC). With compassion, empathy, and patience, Dr. Do's goal is to provide kids with a positive dental experience and lasting impression.
Ivis Getz, D.M.D.
Dr. Getz is a graduate of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She received her certificate in pediatric dentistry from Bronx Lebanon Hospital in New York City where she served as chief resident during her last year of residency. Dr. Getz is board eligible in pediatric dentistry and recently received the Richard C. Pugh Award for scoring in the top 3% of candidates on the written pediatric dental board exam. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, New York State Dental Association, Bronx County Dental Association and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Getz treats each child with compassion and respect and hopes to help start them on a lifetime of good oral health.
